Its lovely Christmas morning and post-present opening time. I am lounging on the couch up at my mom's place in Powell River with my amazing cat Vanessa who I havev have missed so much. Presents were shared and much enjoyed together, and the madness of the weather has finally cleared up. I feel tired, but peaceful. I miss my partner, who has stayed behind at home, but when I arrive home on the 28 we will have our own sort of christmas and open gifts together.
I feel happy ang greatful for the love of family and friends today, as my mom begins preparing for our christmas dinner...later we might go out for some nice warm drinks, but right now I am content to lounge around in my new ultra soft Pj"s and robe:) I love playing my new DS game that I bought brandnew for $2 at Liquidation World yesterday...PuffyAmiYumi Kaznapped!! Its pretty cute. I also finally have a copy of Kamikze Girls to read again....
This December has been fun and filled with joy and love.
I tend to watch and read movies again if I really love them. WIth movies, it can be endless repeats, while with books I might read it again after a while and then wait a few years.
I've seen Mary Poppins, White Christmas, Sleepy Hollow, and The Nightmare Before Christmas so many times that I have lost count. It doesn't bother me either. I never get tired of watching classics like that.
They look just like this:
Later I had amazing sushi dinner with my amazing partner, Pan, who dressed semi-aristocrat/tribal (he has very long blonde dreads) to match my outfit. We shared all sorts of yummy sushi and there was tons left over for both of our work lunches for today.
Pan suprised me by gifting me with this beautiful planner that I have had my eye on for months. I was in the bookstore the day before my birthday and noticed that they were suddenly all gone (There were only two copies). I was pretty bummed to say the least, it is the nicest planner I have ever seen! My friend was trying to make me feel better by saying "Well you know how you told Pan about it a long time ago, maybe he picked one up!" But I told her that there was no way...he is at work until the bookstore is almost closed! Little did I know that somehow he had snuck in there and purchased one for me after all. I was so suprised and pleased with this amazing gift, and the lovely card he gave me as well.
All in all, a very good day and lots of fun <3
In half an hour I am going to meet my friend in town for some tea and to possibly purchase some loli items off of her collection. I can't wait sit down with some lovely tea and see all the goods!!
After that I return home and will probably watch some movies by myself (Howl's Moving Castle, some of the Escaflowne series) until my partner gers home from work. Then we are going out for sushi at a lovely Japanese restaurant that is beautifully decorated.
I have one cupcake left, I think I will use that as my cake :)
Tomorrow I am celebrating my birthday a little early with a lolita tea party at my house! I've been trying to get everything ready for the last couple of days, planning and buying treats when I can. Right now its an overload of strawberry and chocolate Pocky, and some amazing cupcakes from the local bakery...lots of tea will be flowing freely too. I think we will be watching Princess Mononoke, some Escaflowne, and maybe even some Inu Yasha if we can squeeze it in. Also there will be a session of Magic: The Gathering, and Zombies, The Board Game. I can't wait! I am so excited and anxious at the same time... I have to clean, clean, clean and set everything up, even though its only a few people coming. My amazing boyfriend supplied cash for the treats, and my friend Hiri will be bringing Japanese Curry and rice so we can make heart-shaped curry rice mounds.
This is a dress up party too, and a clothing swap-buy event.
I love cats so much <3
Its pretty hard to pinpoint who exactly is a huge creative influence on me. I have so many creative influences!! My friends, my fantastic sewing boyfriend, looking in Fruits and GLB's, and the daily surroundings always help to get me going. I would say that lately my partner is the biggest creative force in my life. He urges me to constantly pump out all sorts of creations that are floating around in my mind. We have a great, funky studio set up in our home where we can both go and get lost in crafting whenever we feel the creative "bug". His creations are so imaginative and perfect looking that it spurns me on to design my own items.
Last night we visited my partner's sister Ocean, who is a master leather sewer/designer. Her work is absolutely the most amazing stuff I have ever seen. It made me want to sew even more and gave me many new fresh ideas. I work with leather also, but not to the degree that she has ;)
I would also say that music, poetry, art, and certain movies also can influence me. Emilie Autumn and her concerts/shows are pretty inspiring at the moment, as are the soundtracks to the Escaflowne anime.
Current creations: Bustles and fleece cat toques!!
